SUMMARY:

Amber M, a homeowner in East Springfield, Ma was looking to transition from an oil-fired steam boiler to a multi zone cold climate heat pump.  We were able to solve many problems with her current system including, it was very cold in the primary bedroom located above the garage on the 2nd floor, we were able to heat, cool and dehumidify the homeowners basement, and fix a general inconsistency in temperatures throughout the home.  Girard Heating & Air Conditioning was also able to provide central air conditioning throughout the home which did not exist before the installation.

The Solution: We combined a Mitsubishi Smart Multi Heat Pump model MXZ-SM42NAMHZ-U1 with Mitsubishi City-Multi Commercial Products with indoor models PFFY-P06NEMU-E, PKFY-P08NLMU-ER1.TH, PKFY-P06NLMU-ER.TH, PVFY-P12NAMU-E1 to achieve higher overall system efficiencies thus qualifying for the maximum rebates of $10,000 from Mass Save and $2,000 Federal Tax Credit through the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) Program.

The Benefits: The home now has 5 thermostats, controlling separate zones throughout the home and alleviating temperature inconsistencies with the previous oil-fired system, better overall comfort in home with operating cost savings due to heat pump special electric rates in Massachusetts and no longer having to buy oil to heat the home.
